Friday Ryan picked up our master bathroom vanity from the cabinet maker. It turned out beautiful! It is fun to see a design Ryan has created come to life. Hopefully we will make a deal on the countertop and the bathroom will be close to being finished this week.Monday, December 20, 2010

Weekend update
Mallory had a game Friday night against Smithson Valley. She won by 20+ points, shot two 3s and had a few other points. I need to keep the total but I can't remember :). There is just nothing like a "nothing but net" 3 pointer....GO CHARGERS!
Saturday Ryan took a little break to play with Chase in the front yard and got a tiger by the tail....
Our "BIG" Christmas tree. We went and picked out our tree last week and finished up the decorating this weekend. This tree makes my 31st real tree. I love the smell and look of a real tree...
While I was at Mal's game Friday Ryan was working on the house. He installed the tv in our master bedroom. Heaven, it is pure heaven! Also he got our new living room TV mounted on the wall, it is awesome! In this picture he is painting the support beams in the living room. Good thing the electrician has let us borrow his ladder...
Sunday we worked on the bookcases for both Ryan and my books. I can't wait to see all my books and cookbooks again. I might just stand and look at all them, ha! Ryan made all the shelves and I got them primed. Now all they need is a coat of paint and they will be ready to go in.

Thanksgiving Weekend
We headed to Athens for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time with friends and family. We ate a ton and relaxed! Friday we went out to Dad's place and him and Ryan shot skeet. Picture above is overlooking one of the lakes...
Fall color, we don't see much of that in San Antonio.
Ryan above, the master skeet shooter!
Dad enjoying the challenge!

West Texas Weekend
We also visited the Chinati Foundation and toured art installations done by Donald Judd. For additional pictures of our trip click here: http://picasaweb.google.com/jones0225/WestTexasWeekend?feat=directlink
The picture above is Independence Creek. We were driving through the desert on Sunday morning and did not see another car for over an hour and a half! Along the way we came across this desert oasis. It was beautiful! While on the trip we also stopped at a few forts and read many historical markers. Steve, Scarlett's husband should have been with us!
Saturday night we visited the McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis and took part in a Star Party. The stars were amazing that night and we were able to look through telescopes and see the moon, Jupiter and many other things. It was a little chilly but we had many blankets, coats and gloves! On the way to the Star Party we stopped off in Fort Davis to watch the beginning of the Aggie game, WAY TO GO AGS!
If you ever get a chance to visit West Texas you should...

AIA Awards
Last week San Antonio AIA (American Institute of Architects) held it's annual awards dinner. Ryan had three projects up for an award and all three won! It was a GREAT night! The horse facility he designed in Weatherford TX took top honors and all three visiting judges stated the horse facility was there favorite project of all the ones submitted. CONGRATS HUBBY!

House Update
Lots has been going on around the house. Ryan finished tiling the master bathroom and is now prepping the master bedroom for carpet installation tomorrow. Above is a picture of our desk in the family room with the new metal top. It is really hard to see and I will try to get better pictures later on...Wednesday, October 6, 2010

New Furniture!
This past Friday we ran to the outlets to see if they had anything new. We found these amazing SWIVEL chairs at Pottery Barn. They actually had more than one which is a miracle at the outlets.
Back view
At Restoration they had these amazing barstools, perfect height (counter), color and they had backs! After we got home Friday night Ryan drew everything out to make sure it would all fit. Luckily it would so Mom and I headed back Saturday morning to pick it all up. They were impressed with Mom and I's tie down skills :)
Pottery Barn had this couch for an amazing price. It is perfect for our living room in size and comfyniess. The new chairs and couch will go great with our leather couch. The back pillows are laid down because we are trying to decide what fabric we want to cover it in. The couch and both chairs need to upholstered. Luckily Mom knows of a guy in Boerne who is working on a chair for her and is doing a great job.
First Cool Snap
This morning we had our first taste of Fall. We had all the doors open letting in the fresh air. Today when I get home I am hoping it is still cooler because I will be opening all the windows!

Boerne Homecoming Parade
It is hard to believe that Mallory is a freshman this year at Boerne Champion High School. Last night she participated in the homecoming parade with the girls basketball team. They all painted themselves blue (school colors) and walked along their float. The girls were super excited because they won second place!
The girls with their trophy. Mallory is the one in front with a navy t-shirt on. She said she wanted to run cross country just because they have cool t-shirts. The tshirts say....There's good....There's great...Then there's CHAMPION! Pretty good too I think. Me and a member of blue girl group...
Me, Mal, and Mom after the parade. Mom and I walked the route to catch up with them at the end for a pep rally. We were pooped! Afterwards we had to run to Michaels because Mallory decided it might be "okay" to have a Mum. Too funny :) I was telling her about my old Mums from school days and told her I would have to show her one day, she looked at me in shock and said, "why do you still have them sis?" Good question...
All of this made me reminisce of my high school days. I told Mallory about my senior year and our Key Club float. That year we had three floats to work on, Senior Float, Student Council and Key Club. Since we didn't have that much time we came up with the theme...FLOAT? WE THOUGHT YOU SAID BOAT!!! We got Dad to drive us through the parade and all my friends were piled up riding in the boat. It was hilarious! Mal and I have also been talking about Pep Rallies and all she needs to do to win the spirit stick. I told her about all of us going to Beth's house to make our signs every Thursday night. Mal was at those pep rallies senior year but I am sure she doesn't remember. : )I am so glad Mallory is getting to experience a fun spirited high school. GO CHAMPION CHARGERS!
